BlytheCon NY 2013!!!

Long time no post!  

In honor of this special event I will be having a huge sale!  

There are 2 ways for you to take advantage of this special offer that is good only until  October 13!!!  

1.  Stop by my booth at BlytheCon and complete an order form.  My awesome friend, Diem Chau of Tiny Haus, offered to be in charge of my booth while I stay in Seattle.

2.  Send me an email stating that you are interested in purchasing.  

This special offer is good October 11, 2013 and ends at 11:59pm October 13, 2013.  To further entice you in ordering I am also going to offer free shipping to US residents only (sorry International customers).

Your name will be added to a list and each week I will contact 5-10 people with 25-50 fabric choices for the front of the bag.  Fabric prints will be limited so hurry and email me now!  For the solid part of the bag your choices will be black or dark brown, snaps and zippers will match the solid fabric of the bag.  Don't worry, I will send you a form that you complete and return to me.  After I receive the form I will then send you a Paypal invoice and once your payment has been received turnaround time for your bag will be 4-6 weeks.

1. Email me with the number of bags you are interested in buying or stop by my booth at BlytheCon starting now until 11:59pm Sunday, October 13, 2013.
2. Return the email you will receive with fabric choices and an order form.
3. Pay the Paypal invoice.
4. Patiently wait 4-6 weeks for your awesome bag(s) to arrive.

New Prints this week!

I have a total of 4 new prints this week but for now I only have photos of 2 new prints that are available for order.  Groovy Mushrooms and Retro Apples with kawaii animals in a navy background.

Hopefully by tomorrow evening I will have photos of the last 2 prints this week.  For the 2 prints above I only have enough fabric for 2 bags each.  The prints below I have enough for 1 more of the skulls and 2 each of the Russian dolls and Echino scooters.  The bags in the photos are ready to ship so there is no waiting, otherwise 2-4 weeks for productions time.  They are available here!

Catching up and Custom Orders!!!

Hello everyone! 

Long time no blogging!!!  Sorry bout that!  I am almost caught up with all of the Blythe Messenger Bags except for this weeks orders.  Hopefully, before I head down to Quilt Market next week I will be halfway done with current orders.  I am so sorry about the delay.  Lots of new changes and happenings going on right now.

Good news!  Custom Blythe Messenger Bags are now available here.  The design of the bag stays the same but you can now pick the printed fabrics and the matching solid.  Snaps and zippers will be our choice but we will make sure it will coordinate with the printed and solid fabric of your choice, 

In addition to Custom Bags, I will still be posting bag combinations that will be available for purchase here. 

In other news, I will be going to NYC for BlytheCon 2013!!!  You will now be able to pick up a Blythe Messenger Bag in person at BlytheCon 2013!   I am so excited!  If you want to use your bag at BlytheCon please order early.  I will stop taking orders probably a month before BlytheCon to prepare for the bags that I will be bringing to the show.

I apologize for the slight delay.  I will be posting photos of new bags by the end of the week.  All remaining orders will ship out no later than Tuesday, April 9.

Spring Break

I will be taking a mini break starting tonight.  Hopefully, when I get back on April 5th I will have bags that will be ready to ship so there will be no waiting!  If you have any fabric suggestions please do not hesitate to email me.  I will still be checking emails and will still have my Etsy store open.

Bags that were ordered will be processed as normal so don't worry  I will still update the order list.  See you soon!

Shipping

Completed and some have sold out!  Yay!  I'm still working on how to package the bags.  It was suggested since I live near Seattle where there is a plastic bag ban law since July 2012 to leave out the plastic bag wrap and just go with a ribbon.  I have these very pretty red and white ribbons that I was going to use to package French Macarons but I never got to use them.  I think the ribbons looks so cute!

UK Hello Kitty

I was not impressed when I first saw this Hello Kitty print from Kokka last year so I didn't order any for the AWA Store.  A few weeks ago I was exchanging emails with a friend when I decided to just go for it and order a few yards from her store.  When I received the package I was impressed!  It's a light canvas that reminded me of the Spoonflower canvas I had my logo printed on.  The big Hello Kitty print works really well with the Blythe Messenger Bag.  Right?  The pictures don't do it justice!  I was in a hurry and took this crappy pic at night.  I will take more pictures today with natural light and replace these pictures later tonight.  I actually have better pictures on flickr.

I thought about it keeping it for myself as an everyday bag.  I test out all the bags I make and some I have used everyday for months straight without switching to other bags.  If you see me walking around with this bag then I have decided to keep it for myself.  I did buy extra materials just in case somebody wants one.  If you do, click here or email me!  I have enough to make 1 or 2 more bags.  Same info and price as the other bags.

Group 3 fabrics are now ready for orders.  I have two sample photos for the 2 colors and the 3rd color will be posted tomorrow.  I'm almost finished with the 3rd colorway so stay tuned!

Doodle.......

No, those are not legs wearing underwear!  Can you tell I don't draw?  I doodle.  This was my doodle while Kris and I were brainstorming about a Blythe "tote" bag.  She was talking about a tote bag while I was obviously not paying attention.  LOL.  Not sure why I wrote "No Pocket" when there are pockets.  Not just 1 pocket but 5 pockets!   

Shipping Rates

Since I'm starting to ship out orders from yesterday I have come to realized that I made a mistake on the shipping rates.  GRRRR!  Don't worry, if you ordered yesterday (Thank you!) I will not charge you more for shipping.  For new orders starting now will reflect the new rates.  I am so sorry.  The initial bag that I based the weight from was considerably lighter than the final design of the bag.

If you are ordering more than one bag, I will recalculate and refund excess shipping when they are shipped together.

Hi everyone!  My name is Jonah and welcome!

First of all, I want to thank Diem, Sara and Kris, thank you for all the help, ideas and for the fun brainstorming get togethers!  Thank you ladies!  If it wasn't for you 3 I wouldn't have any idea who or what a Blythe doll is.  Thank you for all the guidance and the laughs!   

Some of you may know that I have been making single Blythe carriers and have sold them on Etsy and BlytheCon.  I have had an Etsy store since 2005 that specializes in "kawaii" accessories.  I discovered "kawaii" Japanese fabrics in 2006 and from then on I've been hooked  in all that cuteness!

Since I already had the fabrics, it was suggested that the fabrics would make a great carrying bag for a Blythe.  That's when the single Blythe doll bag was born.  

Fast forward almost 2 years later another Blythe carrier is born but this time it is for 3 dolls rather than just 1.  Not only will it show off your Blythe dolls it also has a zippered pocket in the middle for extra accessories and two strap pockets that closes with a coordinating snap for your wallet, lip gloss and possibly another doll.  More info about the Blythe Messenger here.


Here's how this will work.

1.  As of today you will have 8 fabric combinations to chose from for your bag here.  The Japanese fabrics are in limited quantities and some of the fabrics will only be able to accommodate 1-3 carriers at the most so please order early!  Photos of the main exterior fabric and backing fabric will be included in the photo.  Zippers and snaps will coordinate with the printed Japanese fabric.  No substitutions please.

2.  The bags are all made to order and made in a smoke and pet free studio.  Please allow 5-10 days for production.  

3.  Payment is required when ordering.

4.  Your bag will be wrapped in tissue paper, tied with a pretty ribbon and then placed in a Tyvek shipping envelope that is tear and water resistant.  More shipping info here.  Local pickup is also available by appointment.

5.  Every 1-2 weeks a new set of fabrics will be posted and will be available for orders.  If the current fabrics have sold out then I will do my best to replace them with new fabrics as soon as possible.
